Courage, a sculptural group that stands out for its scenic representation, is made up of four human figures distributed in two opposing groups – one consists of a single figure and the second of three. The space between the two groups, although physically small, symbolically becomes infinite, because the characters’ gazes are absent and in reality each one observes his or her own interior. One of the characteristics of the characters sculpted by this artist are their clothes, tunics that do not denote the gender of the human figures represented, however if one stops a little longer to contemplate, one can find details that differentiate some tunics from others, it seems that the artist has subtly wanted to represent with her work different types of fabrics. In fact, they are souls reflecting under the vegetal camouflage of the Plaza del Príncipe on some possible human or urban disaster. They have definitely been trapped by that moment and are reluctant to react for the time being.

Hanneke Beaumont usually models in clay subjected to the test of fire, but in this group of figures the materials used are bronze and steel, which have a very different finish when compared to clay itself.
