It is necessary to distinguish in his sculptures those that are made for exterior spaces from the interior pieces, the first are always related to the place, the architecture and tend to monumentality. The piece Untitled in Santa Cruz de Tenerife belongs to this group, although here the horizontality of the pieces, their colour and rough surface are their most appreciable characteristics. On the other hand, those in the second group are smaller, cut to size and have smooth surfaces.

Rückriem’s work on the Rambla 25 de Julio in Santa Cruz de Tenerife has privileged conditions in terms of its location; it is practically a castration on the asphalt pavement (black) of the Rambla itself. At the same time, it is practically impossible to contemplate it as a whole due to the slope of the terrain. However, its location rivals that of other sculptures in that it tends to be permanent due to its anchoring to the ground. On the other hand, its uniqueness lies in its earthy, reddish colour, which calls for attention as it is surrounded by a uniform bitumen-coloured surface.
