“Out of psychic necessity rather than vocation, he has cultivated the universe in which the beautiful and the monstrous merge intimately. After a period reminiscent of Ernest, no less real for being distant, he tried everything; he worked with iron, wood, copper, various stones, plaster wrapped in rags and painted, etc. His work of the last five years shows the full possession of his talents and the maturity of his originality. Bronzes and marbles integrate the biomorphic in a symmetrical structural feeling, archaic and totemic at times, expressive of unconscious wellsprings. But transfigured into beauty and harmony”. (J. E. Cirlot).
