Pablo Serrano Aguilar

(Crivillén, Spain, 1910 – Madrid, Spain, 1985)

He studied in Zaragoza and Barcelona. In 1930 he went to America and won the First Prize, Gold Medal of Uruguay. Later he represented Uruguay in London in the international competition for the monument to the unknown political prisoner. He returned to Spain in 1954 and won the Grand Prize for Sculpture at the III Hispano-American Biennale of Barcelona. In 1957 he founded the “El Paso” Group with other artists (Millares, Chillida…), which he left the following year. His work has been exhibited in European and American galleries. He has commissioned monuments to important Spanish personalities (Unamuno, Marañón, Pérez Galdós). His sculptural work can be found in the most important museums in the world and in numerous private collections.
