Ejecutores y ejecutados (The Executioners and the Executed)

“Xavier Corberó gives us another version by loading his “Ejecutores y ejecutados” (“The Executioners and the Executed) (in polyester, dated 1973) with a certain level of humanity. Spherical shapes in black, born from asbestos tubes –the executioners– while others, in white and red –the executed– hang from a tree with thick ropes. Double forms, like large balloons, whose material is sweet to the light and establishes in its location, with the language of its forms and colours, a dialogue charged with human intention, originality and eloquence. What happens to Corberó is what happens to Pomodoro: the touch of the objects, his artisan training, his love for the material, achieve the poetic discovery in the anguish of the drama.”
