“The “Dado para 13” (Dice for 13), by Remigio Mendiburu, is another concrete penetrable sculpture related to architecture. The block, animated by perforations, leads the visitor into secret relationships with the landscape. It is not a habitable sculpture, but it is a sculpture for men and women to be part of it, in its solitude and in its projection. It is therefore more than a work of physical communication.”

“Basterrechea is accompanied by a solid and labyrinthine concrete construction, Dado para 13 (Dice for 13), an enormous aedicule of solid walls pierced by implacable woodworm, the work donated to the city by Remigio Mendiburu (Fuenterrabía, Guipúzcoa, 1931)”

“Dado para 13 (Dice for 13) by Remigio Mendiburu is another somewhat aggressive labyrinthine form, with thick walls pierced with holes reminiscent of shrapnel impacts; from the rough exterior there are four entrances leading to the centre where a concrete plinth stands as an altar for rituals.”
