“From the Maeght Gallery, Paris, two major works were on display: a monumental “stabile-mobile” (1970), by Alexander Calder, in his great playful line, and “Woman”, a bronze piece from 1972, by Joan Miró”

“The most famous American sculptor of these decades, the inventor of “mobiles” and “stabiles” in painted iron, Alexander Calder, was also present. The piece of work loaned for this occasion is entitled Stabile-Mobile and was depicted in triangular sheets of painted metal that resembled an enormous bird with a head adorned with surprisingly mobile feathers at the touch of a breath of air. With his Stabile-Mobile, the Tenerife exhibition included, together with the aforementioned Henry Moore, an author who won the Grand Prize for Sculpture at the Venice Biennale (1952)”

“(…) while Calder, also present in the aforementioned pavilion at the International Exhibition of París3 con su sorprendente Fuente de Mercurio, (junto al picassiano Guernica), su Mobile-Stabile ejemplificaba bien sus investigaciones desde los años 30”

“The Maeght Gallery in Paris lent two magnificent pieces, an Estabile-Móbile by Alexander Calder, which for some time brightened up the Ramblas with the mobility of its precarious balance”
